MIST COVER & LIGHTNING STRIKE

Even slightest amount of rain causes mist to cover the place, favourable conditions for lightning strike.
On 1st November, 2007, there was a lightning strike on an experimental setup with two different antennas and everything was destroyed. Both radios, power supply, interface, charger, powerline and both antenna were damaged beyond repair. After learning lesson from the incident, this time we have installed lightning arrestor.

Nice ! Also, why not publish the code under GPL and the hardware design for PIC under the open-hardware initiative so that people can use it, grow further.

good job, maybe i can contribute for a better telemetry control of your repeater setup using PIC and voice module. If interested do let me know.

Thanks for the first ever photographs of the Mumbai Repeater that we used for so long. Good job done.

Hi Mahesh

Great to know the repeater is back up and running. Greetings!! to all who have contributed towards this project. Location is simply awesome!!... Way to be team!!

We at New Delhi would also love have a repeater at Dhanulti in Uttarakhand, its at a altitue of 10,000 feet. And ideal location for long range communication almost throughout 12months of an year.

I have visited that place 5 times and each time I was able to communicate back to New Delhi with Handheld with .5 to 5 watts on 2meters depending on the propogation.

I am sure your VU2BBB system will play an integral role in increasing the Ham activity and act as a back bone from a disaster mangmt. perspective.

Hello keepers of VU2BBB, It is very exciting to know that there is a repeater installed in the beautiful hill station of Matheran. On 26 January 2010 we (A group of 9 SWLs) were at Matheran.

Latest news is we put up VU2PXR, the Punjab Repeater at Naina Devi temple Complex (Height 1100 mts) in HimachalPradesh.
